About the Training

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr Sue Johnson, is an evidence-based approach grounded in attachment science.

It provides a clear and structured model for understanding relationship distress and supporting couples to reconnect in meaningful and lasting ways.

During this training, participants will:

  • learn the EFT model and roadmap

  • understand the patterns couples become caught in

  • explore how to work with emotional experience in session

  • observe live and recorded clinical demonstrations (live when available)

  • take part in experiential exercises in small groups

At the heart of EFT is a simple and powerful question:

The basic message of attachment is simple:

Are you there for me? Can I count on you?”

— Sue Johnson, Hold Me Tight

This training is suitable for:

  • psychotherapists, psychologists, and counsellors
